The Shruti Box is a drone instrument originating from the Indian subcontinent. The bellows on the side pump air through a set of reeds creating a constant tone. The notes are changed using the manually operated stoppers. It is often used as an accompaniment to other instruments, notably the flute. It is also used in classical singing as it helps tune the voice.
